Allied Health NESP– New Entry to Specialist Practice

We have positions available in 2020 for the Mental Health, Addictions & Intellectual Disability Service, MHAID Service 3DHB AH-NESP (Allied Health – New Entry to Specialist Practice) programme. 

The programme is open to all new graduate social workers and occupational therapists who would like to develop specialist skills in mental health and addictions. Successful applicants (AH-NESPs) will be employed 0.9 FTE for 10 months.  During this time, you will work in two different clinical settings, and complete a Postgraduate Certificate in Health Science (Mental Health) at AUT.

You must be registered (or provisionally registered), have a full drivers licence, be able to work and study from February-December 2020, and have a passion for the mental health and addictions field of practice.


  • Hold registration with appropriate board - NZOTB or SWRB
  • Appropriate undergraduate training BSW, BOT (or equivalent)
  • Less than 2 years experience in MH
  • Full drivers licence
