Mental Health Professional - Early Intervention Service


The Early Intervention Service (EIS) is a specialist community mental health team providing assessment and treatment to young people aged 13 to 25 years of age experiencing their first episode of a psychotic illness. It provides a regional service across the greater Wellington Region with the main aim being to help minimise the impact of these disorders on young peoples’ lives through best practice and innovation. The service also provides training and consultation to mental health services in the lower Central North Island. EIS is part of the Mental Health Addictions & Intellectual Disability Service.

We are looking for a registered health professional to work with young people and their families in the Wellington region. Good assessment skills and an ability to engage creatively are valuable in this role as are group-work skills.  Previous experience working with young people is preferred.

The role is 28 hours/week from 19 August - 13 December 2019.

Requirements:

  • Good assessment & group work skills
  • Ability to engage creatively 
  • Previous experience working with young people (is preferred)
  • NZ registration & an annual practicing certificate - Mental Health Nurse, OT or Social Woriker
  • Full/clean driving licence
