Service:    Regional Rangatahi Adolescent Inpatient Services RRAIS


An opportunity has arisen to practise and enhance your Occupational Therapy skills at the Regional Rangatahi Adolescent Inpatient Service RRAIS, part of the Mental Health, Addictions & Intellectual Disability Service.  RRAIS is a 13 bed unit serving the Central Region DHBs. We are a bicultural service based on kaupapa Maori frameworks combined with mainstream researched based psychiatry approaches.

We have a belief that adolescents sometimes need a space where they can feel safe and be helped to make some sense of their chaotic world. We believe it is essential that youth can have a voice and feel that they have been heard. 


  • Passionate about working with Whanau and rangatahi.
  • Able to bring your skills to an inpatient setting.
  • Motivated, thoughtful and professional.
  • Have an understanding of a Maori World View.
  • A team player.
  • Have a least 2 years mental health experience as a Registered Occupational Therapist
  • Current Practising Certificate.

The local MHAIDS services are provided from multiple sites within the 3DHB sub-region – greater Wellington, Hutt Valley and Wairarapa.
