Are you a keen and motivated team player?  Do you enjoy working alongside clients on their road to recovery? The medium secure forensic inpatient unit, Purehurehu, based at Porirua, is looking for a Occupational Therapy Support Worker to join their multidisciplinary teams.

Purehurehu is a male clients-only unit offering assessment and rehabilitation services to:

  • Defendants charged with criminal offences
  • Offenders who have a psychiatric illness

About the role:

In this role you will utilise your creativity, interpersonal skills, humour and energy to assist clients in engaging in a variety of different programs and activities. Using the skills you have gained through having completed the National Certificate in Mental Health Support Worker course you will assist clients in reaching their goals and be a key player in the design and implementation of the unit programme. A full driver’s licence is a must as your time will flow both on and off the unit and ensure there is also variety in your day.

Skills and experience
