About the role

We are seeking a mental health nurse to join this dynamic & enthusiastic team at Wellington hospital and are looking for a mental health (with ideally 2 years mental health experience) nurse who will bring enthusiasm, innovation & passion, while being able to prioritise & balance workload demands.

Ideally you will have the ability to support service users/tangata whaiora to identify their strengths, goals and aspirations, and advocate within the multi disciplinary team for inclusion of these crucial factors in care management that supports recovery and a confident return to the community.

About Te Whare O Matairangi (TWOM):

Te Whare O Matairangi (TWOM) provides acute and intensive inpatient services for people experiencing severe mental distress, who are too unwell to be cared for at home and who require intensive care, treatment and support. The focus here is on recovery and returning people to their home.

Skills & Experience:

  • Current Annual Practising Certificate
  • Registered with Nursing Council of New Zealand
  • Ability to support service users/tangata whaiora
