Registered Nurse -Regional Rangatahi Adolescent Inpatient Service

An opportunity has arisen to practise and enhance your nursing skills at the Regional Rangatahi Adolescent Inpatient Service. We have a belief that adolescents sometimes need a space where they can feel safe and be helped to make some sense of their chaotic world. We believe it is essential that youth can have a voice and feel that they have been heard.


You need to be

•  Passionate about nursing.

•  Able to bring your skills to an inpatient setting.

•  Motivated, thoughtful and professional.

•  Have an understanding of a Maori World View.

•  A team player.

•  Have a least 2 years mental health experience has a Registered Nurse and/or completed the NESP Programme.

•  Current NZNC Practising Certificate.

RRAIS a 13 bed unit serving the Central Region DHBs. We are bicultural service based on kaupapa Maori frameworks combined with mainstream researched based psychiatry approaches.

The Mental Health, Addiction and Intellectual Disability Service (MHAIDS) spans three DHBs - Wairarapa, Hutt Valley and Capital and Coast DHB’s and includes local, regional, and national services. The local MHAIDS services are provided from multiple sites within the 3DHB sub-region – greater Wellington, Hutt Valley and Wairarapa.
