Senior Communications Advisor - Mental Health, Addictions & Intellectual Disability Services

About the role:

We are looking for an experienced and skilled communicator to work with the Mental Health Addictions and Intellectual Disability Services (MHAIDS) team which provides a range of important services locally, across the greater Wellington region and nationally. You will manage an internal and external communications and engagement work programme, provide advice and support to senior leaders, apply strong project management and writing skills, and manage a range of communications channels. You will work within a dynamic Communications team and report to the 2DHB Director of Communications and Engagement, and collectively lead out activity which will assist to deliver stronger engagement and better outcomes for our people, our whānau and our communities.


Skills and Experience

  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Self-starter who can juggle multiple projects
  • Proven experience in leading internal and external communications and engagement work programmes
  • A strong writer, experienced in developing content for social, digital and internal channels
  • Strong risk awareness and judgement, and works well in an environment that requires sensitivity and discretion
  • Ability to work in New Zealand
  • A full New Zealand driver’s licence
  • Health sector experience would be an advantage
